Job summary

California Virtual Academies seeks an Attendance Advocate to support students and families in maintaining school attendance and compliance within a virtual program. You will provide high-touch educational support and excellent customer service, guiding families through attendance processes and school requirements.

You will work a full-time, remote schedule, align with program timelines, attend scheduled meetings, and collaborate with counselors, teachers, and administrators to keep students on

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma and strong organizational skills.
• Experience in an educational setting is preferred.
• Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple projects.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Self-directed but able to work as part of a team.
• Attend regularly scheduled meetings and in-person trainings.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned student caseload and assist with attendance compliance.
• Hold non-compliance calls with families and monitor daily attendance.
• Participate in Strong Start supports and onboarding activities.
• Maintain detailed documentation for each student.
• Develop systems to track compliance information and reports.
• Support students and learning coaches in FAST program tiers II–IV.
• Collaborate with counselors, teachers, and parents to create BOT plans.
• Attend in-person and virtual meetings as scheduled.
• Provide training to help students and parents understand compliance requirements.
