Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced ASL instructor to design and deliver engaging lessons that accommodate various skill levels. You will develop curricula that integrate ASL and Deaf culture while assessing progress and providing feedback to learners.

Applicants should demonstrate fluency in ASL and experience teaching in classroom, online, or community settings, with a strong emphasis on communication and organization to manage diverse groups effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in ASL, Deaf Studies, Education, or related field preferred.
• ASL fluency and knowledge of Deaf culture required.
• Experience teaching ASL in classroom, online, or community settings.
• Experience with diverse learner groups (children, adults, special needs).
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Requirements

• Certification in ASL instruction (e.g., ASLTA certification) is a strong asset.
• Proven experience teaching ASL, either in a classroom, online, or community setting.
• Experience working with diverse groups of learners, including children, adults, and those with special needs.
• Fluency in American Sign Language.
• Deep understanding of Deaf culture and history.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and classroom management skills.
• Familiarity with digital tools for virtual instruction (if applicable)
