Position Summary

CCM seeks passionate and skilled adjunct instructors to teach American Sign Language (ASL) courses. We are looking for individuals committed to fostering a rich and immersive learning environment for students to develop their ASL proficiency and cultural understanding.

Responsibilities
  • Create dynamic teaching/learning environments for students.
  • Teach assigned courses following the course description and outline established by the department.
  • Adhere to teaching schedules including day/evening courses and online/hybrid instruction.
  • Participate in departmental initiatives such as assessment and respond to requests regarding grades, grade submissions, and other course-related content.
Qualifications

Education

  • A minimum of a Master’s degree in ASL or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Priority will be given to instructors with a background in ASL linguistics.

Experience

  • Prior college or university teaching experience preferred.

Skills

  • Native or near‑native fluency in ASL.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of language teaching and learning methodologies and techniques.
  • Familiarity with Blackboard and other instructional technologies desired.
