Job summary

Cerus Corporation is seeking a Research Associate II to support GLP and virology studies involving human and non-human pathogens in blood products. This onsite 6-month temporary role requires hands-on experience in cell/molecular biology, GLP environments, and meticulous documentation.

Responsibilities include independent or team-based experiments, handling pathogenic viruses in BSL-2+ labs, and preparing blood products like plasma, platelets, and red blood cells while maintaining rigorous data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with 2+ years of experience for RA II level.
• Experience with cell or molecular biology.
• Experience with pathogenic viruses is desirable.
• Experience with cell culture is desirable.
• Experience with human blood products is desirable.
• Familiarity with GLP or regulated environments is desirable.
• Proficient with word processing and spreadsheets.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Flexible; able to adapt to changing priorities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Effective time management and task prioritization.
• Strong problem-solving and team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Execute experiments independently or as a team, including studies for product claims and regulatory submissions.
• Work with various pathogens in BSL-2+ environments.
• Prepare and manipulate blood products including plasma, platelets, and red blood cells.
• Grow and maintain cultured cells and propagate viruses; prepare media.
• Perform and document GLP and notebook studies.
• Make detailed observations, analyze data and interpret results.
• Document work in a laboratory notebook accurately and timely.
