Cape Fox Facilities Services is seeking an experienced Virology Support Scientist to provide services in support of the Office of Chief Scientist - Integrated Research Facility (OCSIRF) within the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, located at IRF‑Frederick, MD.

The role focuses on virology research, molecular virology, immunology, organ‑chip or organoid technologies, and related assays, with duties including inventory management, data documentation, manuscript support, and

Qualifications

• Experience providing virology research services.
• Ability to perform virology research under guidance from senior staff.
• Knowledge of organ-on-a-chip or organoid technologies.
• Experience with drug screening assays.
• Strong microscopy and protein chemistry skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide research services to support virology research.
• Perform research with guidance from Federal Task Leader and Senior staff.
• Provide expertise on virology, molecular virology, immunology, organ-chip/organoid technologies, drug screening assays, microscopy or related fields.
• Responsible for laboratory inventory management, submitting purchase requests, managing laboratory resources and maintaining appropriate laboratory research documentation (notebooks).
• Execute virology research as directed.
• Maintain proper research documentation and data management.
• Maintain laboratory reagent and material inventories.
• Manage general laboratory operations.
• Submit purchase requests.
• Assist with manuscript and report writing as requested.
