Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required; MS preferred.
• Virginia PE license required.
• 11+ years of progressive transportation engineering experience with a focus on VDOT roadway design and interstate corridor projects.
• DBIA certification or willingness to obtain.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets and schedules, and deliver high-quality transportation solutions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager and Technical Lead on VDOT transportation design and interstate corridor projects across Virginia.
• Support Design-Build pursuits and project delivery, coordinating closely with contractor partners to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions.
• Lead, grow, and support VDOT transportation contracts and strategic pursuits, including opportunities within the I-81 corridor and statewide infrastructure programs.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams to ensure high-quality and timely project delivery.
• Provide technical leadership in highway design, geometric layout, grading, drainage, and VDOT standards compliance.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including VDOT, municipalities, contractors, and private-sector clients.
• Support business development and strategic growth initiatives through client engagement, proposal development, and pursuit strategy.
• Contribute to the continued expansion of VHB's transportation practice across Richmond, Williamsburg, Virginia Beach, Tysons Corner, and Metro DC markets.
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, quality control, and client communication throughout all phases of project delivery
