VHB is seeking a Virginia Highway Lead to guide major roadway and interstate projects across Richmond, Williamsburg, Virginia Beach, Tysons Corner, and the DC metro area. In this senior leadership role, you will mentor engineers, shape project delivery, and engage with clients to expand the transportation practice.

You will manage complex programs, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and drive innovative solutions while leveraging Design-Build expertise and regional client relationships.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering; MS preferred.
• Virginia PE license required.
• 11+ years of progressive transportation engineering experience focusing on VDOT roadway design and interstate projects.
• Demonstrated Design-Build project experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of VDOT standards, procedures, and digital delivery.
• DBIA certification or willingness to obtain.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets and schedules, and deliver transportation solutions.
• Strong communication, client relationship management, and business development skills.

Responsabilités

• Serve as Project Manager and Technical Lead on VDOT transportation design and interstate projects across Virginia.
• Support Design-Build pursuits and project delivery with contractor coordination.
• Lead and mentor design teams to ensure high-quality, timely project delivery.
• Oversee contracts and strategic pursuits including I-81 and statewide programs.
• Provide technical leadership in highway design, geometry, grading, drainage, and VDOT standards.
• Coordinate with VDOT, municipalities, contractors, and private clients.
