Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a VIRGINIA Class Project Engineer (Experienced) in North Kingstown, RI, to support the Quonset Point facility and VPM development. The role requires deep engineering expertise, offshore design experience, and readiness to engage across manufacturing and planning teams.

The position emphasizes on-site collaboration, problem solving, and continuous improvement within a high-profile naval construction program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of post-graduate engineering experience.
• Experience with the design, development, construction, and/or operation of submarine systems, components, or structures.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Ability to take initiative and work independently.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Highly motivated and able to perform independently and in a team environment.
• Must be capable of physical interfacing in manufacturing shops and on submarine modules, including climbing and accessing confined spaces.
• Familiarity with Teamcenter and Electronic Desktop applications.
• Knowledge of VPM/SSW arrangement.
