Qualifications

• Requires at least a BS degree in an engineering field (Civil/Structural/Mechanical/Manufacturing/Marine) or equivalent.
• Experience: 5+ years in engineering.
• Broad understanding of structural/mechanical design, materials, weld design and bolted joints.

Responsibilities

• Develop build strategies, methods, and fixtures for fabricating and assembling submarine components, structures, systems, and modules.
• Identify and develop tools and fixtures; prepare manufacturing procedures for sequence and alignment of critical installations.
• Collaborate with Groton, Quonset Point, Newport News designers and vendors; travel locally between sites as required.
