Job summary

Henderson Group in Virginia Beach seeks an Attorney to join our litigation team. This role handles civil litigation matters from inception through resolution, with no billable hour requirements and a base salary with potential settlements.

You will draft pleadings, negotiate settlements, attend hearings and mediations, and maintain case records while working with an experienced team. A Virginia law license and strong written and verbal communication are essential; travel expenses are reimbursed

Qualifications

• Active Virginia license to practice law.
• Ability to analyze cases and negotiate settlements.
• Strong knowledge of civil litigation and courtroom procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and high-volume caseloads.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal tech platforms.

Responsibilities

• Handle litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
• 2/3 days on-site, primarily signing.
• Negotiate settlements and work toward efficient resolution of disputed matters.
• Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances throughout your assigned territory (travel expenses reimbursed).
• Partner with internal staff, clients, and opposing counsel to move cases forward effectively and professionally.
• Maintain accurate case records and manage deadlines across multiple matters.
