Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine seeks a highly motivated Co-Op for TDS CGT-Viral Vector Development. The role is based on-site in Malvern, PA, Spring House, PA and San Diego, CA.

The six-month program runs January to June 2027, with a full-time (40 hrs/week) on-site schedule. You will contribute to viral vector process development, work with senior scientists, and gain hands-on laboratory experience in upstream/downstream processes and DoE activities.

Qualifications

• Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year is required.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Biology or related field.
• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Experience with data analysis and modeling software tools is preferred.
• Familiarity with DoE methodologies and data analysis software is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a laboratory environment.
• You must not have any Summer Internship contract or other employment commitment that could interfere with the contract dates specified for this position.
• Cell Culture, Molecular Biology, Analytical Methods, Familiarity with viral clearance methods.
• Purification techniques.
• Lab scale filtration or formulation development.

Responsibilities

• Supporting viral vector process development activities in both laboratory and process analytical settings.
• Assisting with upstream and/or downstream process development studies as required by the program.
• Working directly with senior scientists to execute assigned experiments and maintain accurate laboratory and batch records.
• Analyzing and interpreting experimental data using analytical and statistical tools.
• Participating in technical discussions and DoE activities to address process development challenges and knowledge gaps.
• Collaborating with internal and external partners through team meetings and project discussions.
• Maintaining laboratory notebooks and technical documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
