Job summary

City of New Haven is seeking a Program Coordinator for the PRESS Forward initiative under the Office of Violence Prevention. You will manage day-to-day operations, coordinate with partner agencies, and oversee data collection and reporting to reduce gun violence and victimization in New Haven.

You will lead cross‑sector collaboration, supervise staff, and ensure alignment with funding requirements, while promoting community involvement and policy advocacy where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4-year degree in social services, criminology, public health, social work, or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in public health or social services, with at least 1 year in program management.
• Experience with community engagement and coalition building.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all program subcontracts in coordination with the Director of Special Projects.
• Manage day-to-day data collection and client charting systems.
• Design strategies to foster team building among PRESS Forward staff and volunteers.
• Lead the New Haven Violence Reduction Working Group and coordinate meetings.
• Prepare and submit progress reports, grant applications, and funding proposals.
• Collaborate with a research partner to manage and analyze program data and outcomes.
• Monitor and evaluate program activities and recommend data-driven improvements.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and educational institutions for outreach and job placement.
