City of New Haven is seeking a Program Coordinator for the PRESS Forward initiative under the Office of Violence Prevention. You will manage day-to-day operations, coordinate with partner agencies, and oversee data collection and reporting to reduce gun violence and victimization in New Haven.
You will lead cross‑sector collaboration, supervise staff, and ensure alignment with funding requirements, while promoting community involvement and policy advocacy where appropriate.
This is a specially funded initiative under the Office of Violence Prevention that is designed to reduce gun violence and victimization in the City of New Haven. This is achieved by coalition-building and intentional collaboration between relevant agencies, targeting the highest-risk individuals with hyper-focused social service intervention, supporting the social networks of high-risk individuals, and enhancing workforce training and placement opportunities for this group. Under the direction of the Coordinator of the Office of Violence Prevention and other relevant staff in the Department of Community Resilience, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day implementation and management of this initiative. All work will be done in coordination with relevant stakeholders from partner agencies and programs in accordance with the proposal and scope of work approved by the Bureau of Justice Assistance.

This is a Special Fund, "Non-Tested" position. Continued employment contingent upon availability of future funding. The grant funding supporting this position may be terminated at any time.
This position is included in a collective bargaining agreement with Local 3144, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.

Special Funded employees shall not be covered by the City pension but shall continue to be covered by Social Security.
