Job summary

Center for Justice Innovation is seeking a full-time Coordinator for the RISE Project in Brooklyn, NY. You will coordinate community-based activities addressing gun violence and IPV/DV, collaborating with city partners and staff across crisis management and community services.

The role focuses on trainings, youth programming, event planning, and strong community partnerships, with travel within NYC. A Bachelor's in human services and 2–3 years’ related experience are required; Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in the human services field, with 2–3 years of related violence-prevention experience.
  • Master's degree preferred; driver’s license strongly preferred.
  • Experience in IPV/DV, community organizing, program management and group facilitation preferred.
  • Creative self-starter able to work in a fast-paced environment; hands-on approach.
  • Comfort navigating interdisciplinary settings and providing day-to-day operations support.
  • Experience with transformative justice frameworks and community-based violence prevention preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Educate and support staff on IPV/DV, their intersection with community violence, and related equity strategies.
  • Develop and facilitate trainings for staff, project sites, schools, and community members.
  • Lead youth programs focused on healthy relationships and IPV/DV prevention.
  • Plan and coordinate community events to reduce violence and build community accountability.
  • Meet regularly with the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Safety and Crisis Management System.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local partners and stakeholders; attend meetings as needed.
  • Conduct weekly community outreach and participate in events to promote the program.
  • Provide crisis intervention and short-term case management, with referrals when needed.
