Job summary

YKHC in Alaska seeks a Community Health Aide/Practitioner to provide primary, acute, chronic, and preventive care in village clinics. You will serve in a remote Southwest Alaska region, delivering essential health services and collaborating with local councils and trainees.

The role requires residency in a village or willingness to relocate, English proficiency, readiness to travel to Bethel for training, and year‑round coverage including summers.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be nominated by the village council where service will occur.
• Must attend Health Aide sessions and become CHP certified; EMT/ETT certification required.
• Proficiency with RPMS and Telehealth within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary, acute, chronic and preventive care and emergency care at village clinics.
• Travel to Bethel and other training sites; itinerant coverage to other villages as assigned.
• Participate in trainings; provide year‑round coverage including summers.
• May assume Lead Health Aide responsibilities as needed.
