Job summary

Bel Brands USA in Traverse City, MI, seeks a VIF Machine Operator for Materne North America to run and monitor end-of-line packaging and handle shipping/receiving. This role requires standing for a full 12-hour shift and lifting up to 40 lbs, with hands-on machine operation and material tracking.

You will reset robotic arms, adjust packaging sizes, and ensure product quality while logging efficiency and materials data for next shifts. Prior food manufacturing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; Technical/trade schooling preferred.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in the food industry is a plus.
• Must be able to measure and understand tear weight.
• Previous experience operating hi-lo equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor equipment via computer interface.
• Reset robotic arm positions after line shutdown.
• Set machine for different packaging sleeve sizes.
• Adjust Ixapak machine as needed.
• Break down machinery to clean and sanitize.
• Observe materials for contamination or foreign materials.
• Inspect pouches for quality and uniformity.
• Detect equipment problems and troubleshoot.
• Document tracking sheets for machine efficiency and downtime.
• Load 53-foot trailers with a forklift.
• Shipping and receiving of products and materials.
• Log incoming and outgoing pallets in the computer system.
• Recognize shortages of materials for the next shift.

Job Summary

As a VIF Machine Operator for Materne, North America located in Traverse City, MI you will be responsible for the operation and monitoring of the machinery for the end of our manufacturing process along with the shipping and receiving of products and materials.

Position Responsibilities

• Work with computer interface to monitor and start/stop equipment
• Reset robotic arm positions after line shut down
• Set machine to increase / decrease number of pouches selected for different size packaging sleeves
• Understand mechanical operation to adjust and manipulate Ixapak machine
• Break down machinery with hand tools to clean and sanitize
• Observe materials to identify contamination or foreign materials
• Inspect pouches for uniformity and quality
• Detect equipment problems and troubleshoot
• Document tracking sheets for machine efficiency and downtime
• Operate industrial carts, power hand carts, and hi-lo’s
• Inspect product prior to loading for quality standards
• Load 53 foot trailers with a lift truck
• Shipping and receiving of products and materials
• Log incoming material and outgoing pallets into computer system
• Recognize shortages of materials in the system and order materials for next shift

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand for an entire shift (12 hours)
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications

Education:

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Technical / Trade School preferred

Experience

• Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Previous experience working in the food industry is a plus
• Must be able to measure and understand tear weight
• Previous experience operating industrial carts, hi-lo certification is a preferred
