Job summary

Mission Essential is seeking linguists fluent in Vietnamese at a 2+IRL level to support refugee programs for unaccompanied minors. The role focuses on translation and interpretation, serving as a liaison to Care Staff and others in various settings. Onsite interpretation is preferred, with remote options available 24x7 as needed.

Linguists will translate documents, relay communications, and help orient UC/UAM/URM to resources. Travel and accommodations may be provided for non-local candidates.

Qualifications

• ILR 2+ in English required.
• SCRL proficiency required; background check (Tier 2) may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person onsite interpretation at ORR program sites.
• Provide remote telephonic/video interpretation as needed (24x7).
• Relay deadlines, instructions and questions between staff and UC/UAM/URM in preferred language.
• Assist UC/UAM/URM in communicating concerns when English is not fluent.
• Translate documents between English and recipient's language as requested.
