Job summary

Mission Essential seeks linguists fluent in Romanian with ILR Level 2+ proficiency to support HHS I programs for unaccompanied minors. You will interpret and translate accurately, maintaining confidentiality and cultural sensitivity across diverse settings within the United States.

Position requires willingness to travel, onsite interpretation at ORR locations, and availability for remote requests. Prior experience in social services or medical contexts is a plus.

Qualifications

• ILR Level 2+ proficiency in English and Romanian (listening, speaking, reading, writing).
• Tier 2 background check completed; no clearance required.
• Strong discretion and judgment in handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person onsite interpretation at ORR sites.
• Deliver remote interpretation as needed via phone or video, including 24/7 requests.
• Facilitate communication between Care Staff, UC/UAM/URM in their preferred language.
