Job description

The Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) is the state's leading economic development organization with a streamlined mission to grow and strengthen Arizona’s economy.

The ACA uses a three-pronged approach to advance the overall economy: recruit, grow, create – recruit out-of-state companies to expand their operations in Arizona; work with existing companies to grow their business in Arizona and beyond; and partner with entrepreneurs and companies large and small to create new jobs and businesses in targeted industries.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Videographer & Visual Content Producer creates compelling visual marketing content from concept through final delivery. This role leads end-to-end video production—including creative development, scripting, filming, drone/aerial capture, editing, motion graphics, sound design, and distribution to support ACA’s brand, business-development, event, and communications goals. The successful candidate is a creative, organized visual storyteller who can independently manage a high-volume production schedule while partnering with the Creative Director, Marketing team, internal stakeholders, agencies, and production vendors.

This is a hybrid position based in Phoenix, AZ; qualified candidates must reside in the Phoenix metro area. Base compensation for this role is between $70k—$85k, depending on experience.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead full-cycle video production, including concept development, storyboarding, scripting, filming, editing, color correction, audio mixing, motion graphics, captions, and final delivery.
  • Produce video and visual-marketing assets such as event recaps, executive remarks, promotional trailers, social-media features, customer testimonials, industry vignettes, strategic video series, and business-development content.
  • Capture high-quality video, photography, and drone footage to build a distinctive and versatile visual library for marketing campaigns, events, websites, proposals, email, and social media.
  • Apply strong visual storytelling techniques to transform interviews, events, subject‑matter expertise, B‑roll, and aerial footage into clear, engaging narratives for defined audiences.
  • Adapt content for appropriate platforms and formats, including websites, email, social media, YouTube, Vimeo, presentations, and digital advertising.
  • Maintain organized, searchable libraries of footage, still photography, drone content, project files, templates, and final assets.
  • Manage licensing, subscriptions, contracts, and usage rights for stock footage, music, voiceover talent, images, and other purchased content.
  • Operate, maintain, and recommend upgrades to production equipment and technology, including cameras, drones, lighting, audio equipment, teleprompters, editing systems, and storage tools.
  • Partner with the Creative Director, Marketing team, external agencies, and vendors to ensure creative assets meet brand, quality, timeline, and campaign requirements.
  • Support related creative needs, including photography, image selection, visual mapping, graphic‑design elements, and visual assets for proposals and collateral.
  • Monitor video performance metrics and recommend approaches to improve content visibility and engagement across video‑distribution platforms.
  • Deliver high-quality content under compressed timelines, including timely event coverage and post‑event deliverables.
  • Stay current on video‑production methods, drone technology, editing techniques, motion graphics, and visual‑marketing trends.
  • Travel throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area using a personal vehicle and work occasional evenings and weekends to support productions and events.
COMPETENCY, EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in film/media production, digital or visual communications, multimedia, design, marketing, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum five (5) years of professional experience leading all phases of video production—from concept and pre‑production through filming, post‑production, and final delivery—in a production, agency, corporate, broadcast, or similarly fast‑paced environment. Academic coursework and student projects do not satisfy this requirement.
  • Demonstrated portfolio reflecting strong visual storytelling, interview production, cinematography, editing, and branded marketing or corporate communications content.
  • Current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate, or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire; demonstrated experience capturing and producing high‑quality aerial photo and video content for organizational or marketing use.
  • Proficiency with professional editing and creative‑production tools, including Adobe Creative Cloud, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, Audition, Final Cut Pro, or comparable software.
  • Experience with photography, professional production equipment, and extracting high‑quality still images from video footage.

  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders in a rapidly changing environment.
HIGHLY PREFERRED SKILLS, ABILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Skilled visual storyteller with strong creative judgment in composition, lighting, pacing, sound, color, and narrative structure.
  • Organized and detail‑oriented, with strong asset‑management, file‑organization, and production‑planning practices.
  • Collaborative and service‑oriented, with the ability to build credibility and work effectively with executives, internal clients, agencies, vendors, and diverse teams.
  • Adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity; able to make sound decisions, shift priorities, and deliver results without complete information.
  • Reliable, independent, innovative, achievement‑oriented, and comfortable working at a fast pace with limited direction.
  • Experience in a marketing, advertising agency, professional services, corporate communications, or high‑growth business environment.
  • Experience with motion graphics, animated titles, infographics, and video content optimized for paid and organic digital channels.
