Job summary

SFJAZZ is seeking a talented Video Technician for an on-call, on-site role at the SFJAZZ Center. You will direct cameras, operate broadcasting gear, and ensure high-quality streams for performances and rentals.

You will collaborate with audio, lighting, and AV teams, manage workflows for capture, streaming, projection, and presentation, and troubleshoot issues during live events.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide Video Direction for SFJAZZ Artistic, Education, Development and Rental events.

• Coordinate with audio engineers and Lighting Designer to optimize audio and visuals.
• Operate and configure projection and presentation using PowerPoint/Keynote/QLab.
• Work with Crestron interfaces and IMAG feeds to in-venue displays.

Job description

SFJAZZ is looking for a talented and versatile Vidio Technician. The SFJAZZ Video Technician, On-Call position

provides crucial on-site support to SFJAZZ Artistic, Education and Rental departments under the supervision of the Director of Production and Technical Director.

The Video Technician operates video switching equipment and robotic or static cameras to record and stream performances at the SFJAZZ Center. The role requires the individual be familiar with video workflows including capture, streaming, projection and presentation switching. The ideal candidate should be highly proficient in broadcast quality standards and identifying and resolving operational errors and troubleshooting.

Requirements:

• Provide Video Direction for SFJAZZ Artistic, Education, Development, and Rental performances / events by directing and operating broadcast switcher and robotic / static cameras
• Stream and capture performances and rental events on SFJAZZ platforms (Vimeo, YouTube Live, Facebook, etc) and schedule encore broadcasts utilizing software like Restream
• Interface with live and recording audio engineer(s) and monitor levels and quality of audio to program record and/or stream
• Collaborate with Lighting Designer to establish lighting looks for camera and broadcast
• Working knowledge of Crestron digital A/V interface and multi-media feeds routed via network based or hard wired systems
• Operate and configure Hiperwall software and feed IMAG to the Hiperwall displays
• Setup, operate and switch in-venue projection and presentation using Power Point, Keynote, Playback Pro and QLab
• Other duties as assigned
  

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with switchers and scalers
• For A HVS-490 Broadcast switcher
• Understanding of HDSDI , CAT6, Single Mode and Multi Mode Fiber patching infrastructure
• Familiarity with Panasonic PTZ cameras and controllers
• Panasonic Projectors
• General familiarity with streaming platforms
• Experience video directing and operating cameras for live performances and corporate events
• Experience editing broadcast quality content utilizing video, audio, graphics and lower thirds

Working Conditions:
This position is required to work a minimum of 1 shift per 60 days. SFJAZZ produces events and
performances at all times of the day/week. Evenings/weekends may be required.
