Job summary

KERA seeks a full-time Associate Producer to lead the video, digital and social media strategy for NTX Now, a new daily local news magazine. The Associate Producer will work closely with the Managing Producer to transform interviews and features into a vibrant digital presence and to manage the daily live video stream.

This non-exempt role reports to the Managing Producer and involves pitching and producing segments, monitoring social trends, and collaborating with the digital news team.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in journalism, content creation or relevant experience.
• Ability to rapidly produce and edit video for social media during/after live broadcasts.
• Knowledge of social media best practices and trends.
• Strong writing, editing, and AP style skills.

Responsibilities

• Guide the show's video stream and cut footage for social reels and stories.
• Coordinate with editors to integrate KERA News reporting into NTX Now.
• Translate on-air content into engaging web posts for digital audiences.
• Manage NTX Now's social channels with multiple daily posts.
• Collaborate with Live Producer to create social/digital content from live events.
• Pitch and produce guest segments to strengthen NTX Now's editorial presence.
• Monitor social media trends and engage with North Texas audiences.
• Support broader digital news team on larger projects and vacations/ PTO coverage.
