Job summary

KERA seeks an Associate Producer for NTX Now, a daily local news magazine in Dallas. You will lead video, digital, and social strategy, transforming interviews into engaging online content and managing live streams.

The role reports to NTX Now’s Managing Producer and emphasizes accuracy, balance, and diverse voices. With 2–5 years in journalism or content creation, you will craft posts, pitch segments, and collaborate across teams to extend the show beyond broadcast, in a hybrid Dallas office

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years in journalism, content creation, or relevant experience.
• Ability to quickly produce and edit video for social media during and after live broadcast.
• Knowledge of social media best practices and trends.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects/priorities on deadline.
• Experience in video and audio production and editing.
• Strong writing skills and AP style knowledge.
• Sound news judgment and adherence to ethics and standards.
• Passion for public media and serving a diverse audience.

Responsibilities

• Guide the show’s video stream and cut clips for social reels and stories.
• Coordinate with editors to integrate KERA News reporting into NTX Now segments and repurpose content for web.
• Manage NTX Now’s digital presence and homepage, translating on-air content to web posts.
• Oversee NTX Now social channels with multiple daily posts.
• Collaborate with Live Producer to create social/digital content from live events.
• Pitch and produce guest segments to enhance NTX Now’s editorial presence.
• Monitor social media trends and influence coverage when appropriate.
• Support the wider KERA digital news team on larger projects and during PTO.
