Job summary

The New York Times Company is seeking a Video Production and Planning Coordinator in New York, NY to support the Shows department, pilot new workflows, and keep complex productions organized and on schedule.

You will work closely with the video operations team, studio management, programming teams, producers and leadership to coordinate shoots, handoffs and scheduling while meeting deadlines and maintaining confidentiality and diplomacy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience coordinating or planning in a newsroom or editorial environment.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace, Airtable, Miro and other PM tools.
• Proven organizational and project management skills with ability to track multiple deadlines.
• Basic data analysis skills and comfort with spreadsheets.
• Experience working with or around audio or video production (podcasts, studio shoots, field shoots, editing workflows).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and track many moving parts of the department's projects from pre-production through post-production, in collaboration with the video operations team and studio management.
• Partner early in product development to coordinate rollouts across show teams, developing communications plans and workflows.
• Draft call sheets and other production documentation for field and studio shoots.
• Communicate project status with stakeholders and leadership to ensure productions are on track for reviews and publishing deadlines.
• Coordinate production handoffs between staff across time zones and shifts.
• Work with studio management to coordinate scheduling and production needs for podcast-video shoots and other video productions.
• Manage workflow and process documentation and organize launches.
