Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability of TikTok's video system, including publishing and distribution. You will manage production lifecycle, deploy changes, and respond to incidents to maintain SLA while optimizing capacity and costs.

The role emphasizes building automation, monitoring, and tools to support a globally scaled infrastructure and handling large-scale events with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of SRE or software development experience in large-scale online services.
• Proficient in at least one of: C, C++, Java, Python, C#, Go.

Responsibilities

• Own overall reliability of TikTok's video system including publishing and distribution.
• Lifecycle management of production systems: change management, deployment, operations, incident response.
• Monitor, respond to incidents to meet SLA; review and follow up on incidents.
• Manage capacity of compute, storage, and network to ensure stability and cost savings.
• Provide strong support during big events to handle high traffic.
• Build tools, automation, visualizations, and monitors for global infra operations.
