Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability of TikTok's video system, including publishing, distribution, and large-scale traffic handling. The role emphasizes on-call incident response, capacity planning, and tooling to monitor and optimize infrastructure.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in distributed systems, networking, and experience with Linux, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and ELK stacks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• Programming in one or more of the listed languages (C, C++, Java, Python, C#, Go).
• Strong grounding in networking, OS concepts, and distributed systems troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliability of TikTok's video system, including publishing and distribution.
• Lifecycle management of production systems: change management, deployment, operations and incident response.
• Monitor systems and respond to incidents to maintain SLA; review production incidents.
• Manage capacity for compute, storage, and network to stabilize systems and reduce costs.
• Build tools, automation, visualizations, and monitoring to optimize global infrastructure.
• Provide strong on-call support during high-traffic events.
