Job summary

Cheyenne Police Department Victim Assistance Program seeks a Police Victim Assistance Coordinator to lead staff, manage budgets, and ensure grant compliance. You will train officers on Crime Victim Compensation, coordinate with partners, and support victims through the criminal justice process.

The role requires strong grant writing skills, budget oversight, and the ability to engage diverse communities with empathy and professionalism. This is a grant-funded, full-time position in Cheyenne, WY.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of advocacy or human services experience.
  • Preference for a Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, or Criminal Justice.
  • Experience with grant writing and management.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver's license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Victim Assistance staff and volunteers.
  • Monitor Victim Assistance budget and report to department accountants.
  • Ensure grant compliance and complete required reports.
  • Coordinate services with state, county, local, and nonprofit agencies.
  • Provide crisis intervention and assist victims through the criminal justice process.
  • Attend City Council and City Finance meetings as required.
