Job summary

Oklahoma Crime Victims Compensation Program is seeking a Victims Services Assistant to provide administrative support in the Victim Services Division. The role involves handling calls, guiding victims through the compensation and VOCA programs, and assisting with claims status information.

Strong communication, empathy, and confidentiality are essential. Preferred Associate degree with two years in an office setting; four years in legal or social services is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred; substantial relevant experience may substitute.
• Minimum of two years in an office environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to interact with victims of violent crime with empathy.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage stress.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls and direct to appropriate staff.
• Provide information on victims' compensation and assistance.
• Assist with claim status information for victims/witness personnel.
• Support OK VCPMS claims management system users.
• Maintain data logs and update claim statuses on the website.
• Provide backups for claim entry and filing duties.
• Process mail and scan relevant documents.
• Inform victims about statewide resources and referrals.
