Job summary

State of Texas invites applications for a Victim Assistance Coordinator within the Criminal Prosecutions Division. You will serve as primary contact for crime victims, coordinating with prosecutors and investigators while ensuring rights under the Crime Victims’ Bill of Rights are upheld.

The role emphasizes in-person work at the OAG location, strong customer service, and collaboration across criminal justice partners. Bilingual (Spanish) skills are a plus and travel up to 50% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Five years of full-time experience in mental health, social or behavioral sciences, criminal justice or related fields.
• Master's degree in mental health, social or behavioral science discipline is preferred for higher level.
• Knowledge of Crime Victims’ Compensation Program.
• Ability to work in person at the assigned OAG location and travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a point of contact for victims of crimes being prosecuted by the Criminal Prosecutions Division.
• Acts as a liaison between the victims, prosecutors, and investigators within the division.
• Ensure that crime victims are afforded their rights under the Crime Victims’ Bill of Rights.
• Provide excellent customer service and professional conduct in dealings with victims and colleagues.
