Blue Rock Human Capital, LLC supports a privately held project leadership client in the construction and industrial sector seeking a Vice President of Talent Acquisition to own talent strategy, leadership development, onboarding, and succession planning.

You will design a high-impact recruiting function, lead executive searches, and partner with the CEO on engagement and workforce shaping. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-growing organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive talent acquisition experience, including leadership of the function.
• Experience designing and operating recruiting processes, teams, and metrics.
• Exposure to leadership development, onboarding, and succession planning.
• Strong executive presence and ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Our client is a privately held, founder-led company in the construction and industrial sector with more than 500 employees and a strong growth trajectory. The business is executing a strategic shift in how it delivers its work, and that shift is creating sustained demand for leadership and specialized talent across the organization.

To support that growth, the company is establishing a dedicated Talent function, led by a Vice President reporting to the CEO. This is a newly created role with full ownership of talent acquisition, onboarding, leadership development, and succession planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the talent acquisition function, with a near-term focus on filling executive, senior leadership, and critical individual contributor roles. This is a hands-on seat; the VP will personally lead select senior searches.
• Design and build the recruiting team, process, tools, and metrics required to support a growing organization.
• Own onboarding and first-year integration for senior hires, with accountability for quality of hire.
• Lead leadership development strategy, including selection and management of external development partners for executives and high-potential leaders.
• Establish and maintain succession plans for executive and senior leadership positions.
• Partner with the executive team on the talent-related drivers of employee engagement, including career pathing, recognition, and manager effectiveness.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive talent acquisition experience, including leadership of the function, ideally within construction, engineering, manufacturing, or another industrial or field-based environment.
• Demonstrated success personally recruiting and closing executive and senior-level hires.
• Experience building or restructuring a recruiting team and the operating processes around it, with measurable results.
• Exposure to leadership development, succession planning, or onboarding programs, and a genuine interest in owning that side of the talent function.
• Strong executive presence and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, results-driven environment.
