We’re looking for a Vice President who will be a strategic leader at the agency—responsible for overseeing accounts run by managers, senior managers, and directors; providing strategic input, offering new ideas and pointing out potential pitfalls; mentoring and growing the careers of our team members; and contributing to the operations of the agency. At Cutline, our Vice Presidents are not only focused on the projects under their charge, but are actively working to make our entire team successful. They are an agency resource, an active participant in new business efforts and a voice in ensuring agency processes run smoothly and efficiently.

- Beyond your account responsibilities, you suggest and drive new ideas, efforts and initiatives that grow and develop the agency as a whole

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Account Management & Client Relations
- You’re accountable for the operations of multiple accounts, ensuring teams meet goals, provide value to clients and stay within budget (with over-servicing at less than 10%)
- You proactively engage with clients to check in on their satisfaction with our work and the health of your accounts
- You create a high-impact environment, both internally and within client teams
- You are able to explain the strategic value of each of those PR, digital media, marketing and creative programs to C-level executives of our clients
- You are seen as a trusted and respected strategic counselor that the client can tap into on any given day for help with any issue or challenge
- You push our teams to develop big campaigns that are interdisciplinary (marketing, media, social, content, influencer) and align to clients’ marketing, sales and business goals, and you train your teams to think this way too
- You drive client kick-off meetings
- You identify potential issues with clients before they become large-scale problems
- You help teams deliver on media, social, content and influencer strategies and tap into your network of relationships whenever necessary
- You understand the landscape around clients’ respective industries and share new perspectives with the team and client on effective strategies not yet explored
- You strive to do more than is required or expected in your role; without being asked, you do things for the client or team that help drive campaigns or programs forward
People Development
- You help drive the professional growth and development of employees across the agency, including identifying, motivating, retaining and growing strong talent
- You serve as a resource across the agency, providing counsel, advice and strategy not just on the accounts you lead
- You proactively identify and act on ways to celebrate and mentor employees across the agency (not just your direct reports)
- You proactively identify where we could be better utilizing people’s strengths, you raise potential issues within the agency and proactively make recommendations to effectively manage resources or remediate issues (not just your direct reports)
- You work with the broader senior team to determine staffing needs, play a strong role in the recruiting process, ensure the success of hires, and help provide a smooth and successful onboarding experience
- You’re able to manage a team of people (this includes direct reports and the people who report to them) and play a critical role in staff development across the agency
- You are able to offer balanced guidance and mentorship to team members across the agency and communicate about difficult topics in a diplomatic and respectful way
- You are able to read and react to the morale of our team
- You have the mentality that a team will always deliver better results than individuals working in silos, and you inspire others to work effectively toward common, positive goals
Media Relations
- You play a strong role in developing and driving media relations campaigns that shape clients’ reputations and help them achieve their business objectives
- You have very strong media relations skills and a real passion for coverage; you also have established media relationships
- You work closely with your teams to identify ways to maximize media attention for key announcements and campaigns
- You help both our internal team and clients brainstorm new ideas to effectively drive coverage and advance their goals
- You’re able to handle crisis media issues and manage through challenges
Content Development
- You are an expert in strategy and execution with regard to relevant social media channels, develop compelling social media content, and populate that content within social media channels
Marketing Strategies
- You develop short- and long-term marketing plans in support of organizational strategy and objectives, direct implementation of marketing policies and practices, and ensure marketing communications are coordinated, support marketing plan objectives, and meet organizational budget requirements
- You have an expert understanding of marketing methodologies, including online content strategy and development, multimedia and social media production and management, email communications, electronic database and content management, and web analytics
- You understand marketing best practices and have thoughtful conversations with clients and new business prospects
- You oversee and direct market research and competitor analyses
Measurement
- You ensure the way we measure PR programs maps back to client goals, OKRs, and KPIs
- You’re able to suggest new, creative strategies for measurement
Business Development
- You treat the agency as a client, identifying new opportunities and areas of growth, and engage, amplify, and contribute to our brand
- You deliver new business leads to the agency through your own network and efforts and evaluate new business leads with the leadership team
- You develop proposals, manage internal research / initiatives, and play a lead role in pitches to prospective clients
- You participate in one to two networking events per quarter and secure at least four new business introductory opportunities per year from your outreach / networking
- You may be asked to lead and grow a business unit or portion of the business in a new market category as we grow
Agency Operations
- You take initiative to build a positive agency environment
- You manage one key operational program, working closely with the partner team
