Role Overview
The Vice President/Principal of Investor Relations & Capital Raising will be a pivotal member of the firm’s business development team. This individual will focus on cultivating and expanding relationships within the Private Wealth channel, RIA and Family Office's while supporting broader fundraising and investor relations initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of raising capital in private equity, with experience in secondaries being a strong advantage. Ideally based in New York City, the firm is also open to exceptional candidates located in other key U.S. markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Capital Raising: Drive fundraising efforts by leveraging existing relationships and cultivating new partnerships within the RIA and Family Office channels, with a focus on private equity strategies.
- Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of investors, ensuring exceptional client service and effective communication regarding fund performance, strategies, and market updates.
- Investor Outreach: Proactively identify and engage prospective investors within the RIA and Family Office space, understanding their unique needs and aligning them with the firm’s offerings.
- Private Equity Expertise: Communicate the nuances of private equity investments, particularly secondaries, and effectively articulate the firm’s unique value proposition in this space.
- Marketing and Communications: Collaborate on the development of tailored marketing materials, including pitch decks, PPMs, and performance updates, to effectively communicate the firm’s strategies.
- Market Research: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and investor behavior to identify emerging opportunities and strengthen the firm’s position in the market.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams, including investment professionals, to align fundraising strategies with the firm’s overall objectives and ensure seamless execution.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all fundraising and investor communication activities adhere to regulatory requirements and internal standards.
Qualifications
- 7-12 years of experience in investor relations, fundraising, or business development within private equity, asset management, or a related field.
- Proven track record of raising capital for private equity funds, with specific experience in secondaries highly preferred.
- Established network of relationships within the Private Wealth Channel, RIA or Family Office channels is required.
- Strong understanding of private equity strategies, particularly secondaries, and alternative investment products.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex investment strategies into clear and compelling messages.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or CFA designation is a plus.
