Job description

The Position
  • Serves as the senior US leader accountable for payer strategy across current and emerging therapeutic areas.
  • Leads product/portfolio pricing strategy (WAC, net price ambition, contracting strategy, payer value communications) to secure sustainable, profitable patient access and advance US objectives.
  • Provides end-to-end market access strategy across the asset lifecycle (early pipeline/business development through launch, in-line growth, and end of promotional lifecycle).
  • Translates payer/customer/competitive/policy/evidence insights into access choices and equips field market access teams with strategies, tools, and guidance to negotiate and deliver profitable access.
Essential Functions
  • Enterprise payer strategy: sets vision/strategy/multi-year plan; leads access/investment/supply/contracting trade-offs.
  • Pricing and contracting: leads US strategic pricing (value-based/competitive analysis, WAC, net price ambition, scenario planning, lifecycle pricing); develops commercial and government contracting strategies; develops alternative model pricing (NovoCare Pharmacy, self-pay, direct-to-employer, alternative benefit providers); partners to evaluate contract economics and optimize gross-to-net investment.
  • Payer/B2B value strategy: leads payer & B2B segmentation/insight generation; develops value propositions using clinical/economic/population health/budget-impact evidence; oversees payer/customer tools and payer-facing programs; equips/trains field teams.
  • Pipeline/evidence/BD: end-to-end market access from early decisions through promotional end; guides payer evidence needs and evidence generation plans; supports BD assessments.
  • Execution/performance leadership: cross-functional planning; represents MAPA; engages priority customers; establishes performance measures; anticipates policy/market changes; develops function strategy, operating plan, and budget.
  • Values/leadership: builds inclusive, high-performing organization; manages development plans and succession.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s required; MBA/advanced degree preferred (2 years experience may substitute for Masters/PharmD/PhD).
  • 15+ years relevant experience (account management/sales/marketing/finance/market access), preferably pharma pricing/contracting and market access strategy.
  • 5+ years people management required (manager of function strongly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of US payer environment and how managed care makes decisions.
  • Ability to translate strategy into measurable, high-ROI programs.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and project management skills; executive presence.
  • Ability to access/influence functional areas without direct line management.
