Job summary

Executive Alliance seeks a VP of Operations to lead multiple U.S.-based business units, owning margins and strategic direction for multi-million-dollar projects in NYC. You will drive project planning, field execution, safety, and operational excellence with a direct reporting line to the EVP.

Key requirements include 10+ years in operations at large construction or specialty trades firms, hands-on labor oversight, and strong leadership and communication skills. Travel up to 40% is expected.

Qualifications

Outstanding, high impact VP of Operations opportunity at our client, to lead several company BU's generating nine-digit annual revenue, with visibility reporting direct to the EVP for this leading construction / specialty trade contractor in the NYC area with institutional, commercial and infrastructure projects using self-perform, in-house employee labor for end-to-end planning and completion of project builds typically valued at over $10M each.

The salary is flexible in the $275k-$375k range, possibly $400k for a particularly strong fit, depending on experience and credentials, plus bonus.

Company headquarters is based in a highly accessible, vibrant commercial hub offering excellent access to multiple subway lines and trains.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Diverse, executive-level responsibilities include: heading up multiple U.S.-based BU's - own / manage / oversee / monitor P&Ls for assigned BU's, margins on larger projects, strategic decisions & direction, project management, field execution, scheduling & labor productivity, QA/QC, customer satisfaction, OSHA safety compliance & regulatory compliance, KPIs, budgets, forecasts, operational excellence, and process improvements & optimization.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and under budget.
• Lead and mentor BU / Operations / Regional leaders, hire / upgrade direct reports as needed, and support management-level personnel decisions.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• 10+ years of applicable operations management experience at a similar management level performing relavant, diverse responsibilities at mid-to-large sized commercial construction or specialty trade contractor companies with annual revenue over $100M.
• As this role includes monitoring the labor productivity, scheduling, field execution, and proper safety of labor employed by the company performing builds at project sites, it's REQUIRED candidates have strong, relevant 'hands on' experience at companies that employ and provide most if not all of the labor needed to physically perform project builds. Candidates with employment history mostly at companies that subcontract out the project-based labor are not a fit for this opportunity.
• Able to travel domestically up to approximately 40%.
• Executive presence, strong leadership qualities, high EQ and effective communications skills.
