Ayres seeks an entrepreneurial, collaborative leader to become Vice President of Structural Services. You will oversee structural design for buildings and transportation structures nationwide, including bridge inspection services.

In this critical role you provide strategic direction and operational leadership, grow the practice, mentor teams, and drive financial performance while shaping the firm’s future.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering or related field.
• PE license or CBI certification required.
• Minimum 10 years in structural services, consulting, and leadership.
• Strong financial, budgeting, forecasting and project managing skills.
• Proven ability to grow a practice and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an annual business plan for the structural service practice.
• Lead a geographically diverse team of structural professionals.
• Identify and pursue opportunities to expand services, reach, and market share.

This role will oversee structural design for buildings and transportation structuresacross Ayres, as well as our bridge inspection services.

In this critical leadership role, you will provide strategic direction and operational leadership for our structural practice while helping shape the future of the firm.You'lllead a diverse team of structural professionals across multiple locations, drive business growth, foster employee development, and ensure the successful delivery of quality projects that meet our clients' needs.

The ideal candidate combines deep structuralserviceexpertisewith a proven ability to lead teams, develop business opportunities, oversee financial performance, and execute strategic growth initiatives.

On Any Given Day, You'll:

• Develop and implement anannual business plan for the structuralservicepractice.
• Collaborate with company leadership to execute divisional andAyreswidestrategic initiatives.
• Identifyandexecute onopportunities to expand service offerings, geographic reach, and market share.
• Monitor industry trends, competitive positioning, and emerging market opportunities.
• Represent Ayres at industry conferences, professional organizations, and client events to build the firm's brand and visibility.
• Prepare and manage annual budgetsand financial performance metrics.
• Monitor revenue growth, profitability, backlog,utilization, accounts receivable, and resource planning.
• Make data-driven decisions that support operational excellence and strategic growth.
• Oversee workload balancing and resource allocation across teams and offices.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a geographically diverse team of structural professionals.
• Create an environment rooted in collaboration, transparency, respect, innovation, and accountability.
• Support employee engagement, professional development, succession planning, and career growth.
• Conduct workforce planning and make strategic hiring recommendations.
• Facilitate leadership meetings, team meetings, and organizational communication initiatives.
• Build andmaintainpositive working relationships across business units and service lines.

Required Qualifications

• Either abachelor’s degree in civil engineering,structuralengineering, or a related field,or aminimum of 15 years ofrelevantexperience instructuralservices.
• Professional Engineer (PE)licenseor Certified Bridge Inspector(CBI)certificationrequired.
• Minimum of 10years of progressively responsible experience in structuralservices, consulting, and leadership.
• Demonstrated technicalexpertiseand professional recognition within the structuralserviceprofession.
• Proven success leading teams, developing staff, and managing organizational growth.
• Experience with strategic planning, business development, and client relationship management.
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and projectfinancial management.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and delegating responsibilities effectively.
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly toAyresoffices, clients, and industry events.
• Valid driver's license witha good drivingrecord.
