Vice President of Sales, Data Platform

Come and join us! The ideal candidate for the VP Sales, Data Platform role will have a strong background within industry sector(s) and cloud data platform solutions and a passion for helping customers transition to the Cloud. This role requires knowledge of the marketplace and focus on selling business outcomes at the C-level through Oracle's Cloud portfolio into vertical markets. This is a leadership role and includes managing a team of Data Platform sellers. Thrive in this crucial role!

As a Sales Leader, you will be an expert in sales process, resource utilization, and a mentor to direct reports, inside sales, engineering pre-sales, supporting staff, and channel partners. The primary focus is to promote a complete Oracle Cloud Solution, drive customer acquisitions, and cloud services consumption growth, strategically plan and execute regional sales programs, and act as a technical/sales strategist in competitive situations.

Specific areas of focus include:
  • IaaS – Infrastructure as a Service (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure)
  • PaaS – Platform as a Service
  • Analytics, Security, Integration, Applications Workload moves to cloud
  • Cloud Native Application Development including Mobile Cloud Services and Autonomous Technology initiatives
Responsibilities
  • Overall responsibility for the region's sales, third-party alliances, and customer satisfaction surrounding Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure and Platform Services portfolio.
  • Develops and implements a comprehensive strategy to improve Oracle's opportunities across all products and lines.
  • Manages and develops a team of sales representatives, including recruiting, hiring, and training on the Oracle sales process.
  • Sells and promotes Oracle products, negotiating price, concessions, and terms.
  • Participates in strategic and tactical planning for the division.
  • Builds effective relationships with license, consulting, and education field managers to develop joint account plans.
  • Develops and executes a territory plan to maximize revenue, generates forecasts, manages escalations, and conducts weekly sales meetings.
  • Interacts with senior management to ensure objectives are met and influences decision-making in sensitive situations.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of Technology / Cloud Sales Management experience.
  • Ability to hire and train top talent.
  • Customer satisfaction and priority resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
  • Negotiation skills for pricing and terms.
  • Strong analytical and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Experience selling Public Cloud Infrastructure or related services.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • 10+ years of enterprise sales experience with large quotas.
  • 5+ years leading sales teams and supporting functions.
  • Experience navigating long sales cycles in complex environments.
  • Knowledge of vertical industry solutions and cloud adoption patterns.
  • Understanding of DevOps, Microservices, and organizational change.
  • B.S. or B.A., preferably in engineering or computer science.
  • Strong public speaking and training abilities.
Additional Information
  • US hiring range: $122,200 - $270,800 annually, plus potential equity and commissions.
  • Comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and more.
