Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Sales to lead our global enterprise software sales team. This role is ideal for a hands-on sales leader with a strong background in infrastructure and enterprise software sales, and proven success closing complex, high-value enterprise deals.

The VP of Sales will be responsible for first-line management of a small, globally distributed sales team across North America, Europe, and Australia, ensuring execution against strategic goals while coaching and developing the team to peak performance.

Reports to:

Chief Revenue Officer

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and directly manage a team of enterprise sales professionals in North America, Europe, and Australia.
  • Drive new customer acquisition and revenue growth in enterprise accounts.
  • Provide strategic guidance, coaching, and mentoring to the sales team to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success teams to align on go-to-market strategies and execution.
  • Own the sales forecasting process and provide accurate, timely reporting to senior leadership.
  • Develop and refine sales processes, methodologies, and playbooks.
  • Cultivate relationships with C-level executives and technical decision-makers at target accounts.
  • Lead by example in executing complex enterprise deals and representing Akka in customer engagements.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of first-line management experience in enterprise software sales.
  • 10+ years of total experience in enterprise software sales roles, with a strong track record of success.
  • Experience selling infrastructure software or technologies that support distributed systems, cloud-native applications, or AI/ML platforms.
  • Demonstrated success managing distributed teams across multiple geographies, including North America, Europe, and Australia.
  • Strong proficiency in English (near-native speaker), with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working in a startup environment, where agility and adaptability are key to success.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in early-stage companies or scaling sales organizations from the ground up.
  • Familiarity with the AI, ML, or distributed systems landscape.
  • Experience working with usage-based or consumption-driven pricing models.
