Job summary

Fontaine Modification, part of Marmon Holdings, seeks a hands-on, strategic Vice President of Operations to lead nine sites. You’ll own production, procurement, quality and safety, building scalable discipline and ensuring on-time, cost-competitive delivery of high-quality modified vehicles.

The ideal candidate has multi-site manufacturing leadership in low-volume, high-mix environments and a proven ability to translate lean, Kaizen and Six Sigma into measurable results across complex programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive manufacturing operations leadership, including 5–7 years in a senior leadership role.
• Experience leading multiple manufacturing facilities with standardized operating practices.
• Direct experience in vehicle or specialty vehicle manufacturing, low-volume, high-mix environments.
• Proven success in production, procurement, supply chain, continuous improvement, quality, warranty, and safety.
• Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement methods with measurable impact.
• Strong financial acumen: budgets, forecasting, cost control, KPI management.
• Experience evaluating ERP, manufacturing systems, automation solutions.
• Exceptional leadership and change-management skills; able to operate from shop floor to executive team.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%

Responsibilities

• Set and execute the operating strategy for nine sites.
• Lead capacity planning, scheduling, labor deployment, and on-time delivery across facilities.
• Develop sourcing and procurement strategies; optimize inventory and logistics.
• Scale an operating system grounded in lean, 80/20 principles, and disciplined problem solving.
• Strengthen quality systems, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Create a strong safety culture with consistent expectations across sites.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing operations organization.
• Manage operating budgets and KPIs; drive cost performance.
• Evaluate and implement manufacturing technology and automation.
