Redford Hearth in the New England region is seeking a Vice President of Plant Operations to lead maintenance, life-safety, and facilities management across ~30 Skilled Nursing and Long-Term Care facilities.

This executive role drives regulatory compliance, preventative maintenance, capital projects, and operational performance, partnering with regional and facility leadership to ensure safe, efficient, resident-focused communities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare facilities management.
• Experience leading facility maintenance teams across geographically dispersed locations.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory and life safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for plant operations across a portfolio of 30 SNF and LTC facilities.
• Develop and implement maintenance, life safety, and facilities management standards across the organization.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with CMS, Joint Commission (where applicable), OSHA, NFPA, and Life Safety Code standards.
• Lead, mentor, and develop facility Maintenance Directors and regional facilities teams.
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs and asset management strategies.
• Manage capital expenditure planning, facility improvement projects, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Drive operational efficiencies and cost-effective facilities management practices.
• Support survey readiness efforts and assist facilities during regulatory inspections.
• Partner with Operations, Clinical, Finance, and Development teams to support organizational objectives and growth initiatives.

Are you an accomplished facilities and maintenance executive with a passion for operational excellence in healthcare environments?

We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Plant Operations to lead maintenance, facilities management, life safety compliance, and capital projects across a portfolio of approximately 30 Skilled Nursing and Long-Term Care facilities throughout New England.

This is a high-impact executive leadership role responsible for developing and executing regional facilities strategies that ensure our communities remain safe, compliant, efficient, and resident-focused.

About the Role

Reporting directly to senior executive leadership, the Vice President of Plant Operations will provide strategic oversight and leadership for all plant operations, maintenance, environmental systems, and facility infrastructure across multiple healthcare campuses.

The successful candidate will partner closely with regional and facility leadership teams to drive operational performance, regulatory compliance, preventative maintenance programs, and capital improvement initiatives while fostering a culture of safety and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for plant operations across a portfolio of 30 skilled nursing and long-term care facilities.
• Develop and implement maintenance, life safety, and facilities management standards across the organization.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, including CMS, Joint Commission (where applicable), OSHA, NFPA, and Life Safety Code standards.
• Lead, mentor, and develop facility Maintenance Directors and regional facilities teams.
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs and asset management strategies.
• Manage capital expenditure planning, facility improvement projects, and infrastructure upgrades.

• Monitor key performance indicators and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the portfolio.

Qualifications Required

• Minimum 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare facilities management.
• Multi-site maintenance and plant operations leadership experience.
• Prior experience within:
• Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF)
• Long-Term Care (LTC)
• Post-Acute Care
• Rehabilitation Hospitals
• Senior Living Healthcare Communities
• Strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory and life safety requirements.
• Experience leading facility maintenance teams across geographically dispersed locations.
• Demonstrated success managing capital projects and maintenance budgets.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and team development skills.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
• CHFM, CHSP, PMP, or other relevant industry certifications.
• Experience supporting large multi-facility healthcare portfolios.
