Job summary

Shirley Parsons is seeking a Vice President of Health, Safety, and Environmental (EHS) to develop and implement strategies that protect employees, reduce risk, and foster a thriving culture across jobsites and internal operations.

The role directly supports manufacturing and data center construction environments within a fast-growing startup, with 30–50% travel in year one and preference for Dallas-area candidates.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years in an HSE leadership role, preferably in manufacturing and data center environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA/EPA regulations and related standards.
• Experience directing large-scale national or multi-region EHS programs.
• CSP/MSP/ASP or GSP certification required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field required.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and direction to the HSE team, including training, coaching, and mentoring to meet goals.
• Maintains current knowledge of developments in health, safety, and environmental fields, and changes in regulations.
• Lead incident prevention/risk processes, including RCA and investigations.
• Partner with executive leadership, client representatives, and employees to build and lead the EHS team and culture.

Job description

Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President of Health, Safety, and Environmental (EHS) will be responsible for developing and implementing health, safety, and environmental strategies to ensure employee well-being, reduced risk, and a thriving culture across jobsites + internally.

This role is directly tied to manufacturing and data center construction environments. The client is an agile, fast-growing startup with strong financial security and established contracts.

***This position will require 30-50% travel in the first year, and it is preferred for the candidate to be based in the Dallas area.***

The Role:

• Provides leadership and direction to the HSE team, to include training, coaching, and mentoring, ensuring that goals and objectives are met.
• Maintains current knowledge of developments in health, safety, and environmental fields, and changes in federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Lead incident prevention/risk processes, including RCA, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Partner effectively with executive leadership, client representatives, and employees across departments to effectively build/lead the EHS team and culture.

The Candidate:

Previous experience steering the direction of a large-scale EHS program nationally, or across a large region in the USA.

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in a HSE leadership position, preferably in manufacturing & data center environments, with strong knowledge of HSE regulations and standards, including OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
• Previous fire/medical safety experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic, environment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field required
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Master Safety Professional (MSP), ASP, or GSP required.
