Job summary

Michael Page is partnering with a fast-growing real estate platform to appoint a Vice President of Development for the Twin Cities. This leader will source, underwrite, and execute multifamily projects, manage relationships with landowners, brokers and officials, and guide entitlement and pre-construction work to drive regional growth.

The role demands a decade of multifamily experience in the Twin Cities, strong financial modelling, and a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset to lead complex deals

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of multifamily development experience within the Twin Cities market.
  • Demonstrated success sourcing, underwriting, and executing multifamily development projects.
  • Strong understanding of local municipalities, entitlement processes, zoning requirements, and development stakeholders.
  • Advanced financial modelling and underwriting skills with the ability to assess opportunities from both strategic and execution perspectives.
  • Experience negotiating complex real estate transactions and development agreements.
  • Proven ability to manage consultants, design teams, entitlement processes, and early-stage project execution.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently in a lean, high-accountability environment.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills with the credibility to represent the organisation externally.
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Construction Management, Urban Planning, or a related discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with landowners, brokers, municipalities, utility providers, and development consultants.
  • Monitor market conditions, entitlement trends, zoning activity, and competitive developments to identify strategic opportunities.
  • Underwrite development opportunities, conduct due diligence, and present investment recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Negotiate land acquisitions and development agreements while coordinating with legal, engineering, and consulting partners.
  • Oversee entitlement, design coordination, and pre-construction activities through key development milestones.
  • Act as the senior market representative, enhancing the firm's local profile and supporting continued platform growth.

Description

The Vice President of Development will report directly to the senior leadership team and serve as the market lead for the Twin Cities region. This role will focus on sourcing new opportunities, advancing development projects, and building key market relationships.

  • Deep understanding of local zoning regulations, entitlement processes, and municipal approvals.
  • Strong financial modelling and underwriting skills with the ability to evaluate project feasibility and investment returns.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating purchase agreements, development agreements, and consultant contracts.
  • Experience managing architects, engineers, legal counsel, and other development partners through pre-construction and entitlement phases.
  • Ability to build strategic relationships with brokers, landowners, public officials, and industry stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently while driving regional growth initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Urban Planning, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
