Job summary

MPI is seeking a talented real estate investment analyst to build and maintain financial models for development and acquisition opportunities in the Southern U.S. This role supports decision-making with market research, feasibility studies, and due diligence findings.

You will assist in preparing investment committee materials and coordinate with cross-functional teams to track budgets, cash flow, and performance against milestones. A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Construction Management, or related field.
• 2+ years of real estate development, acquisitions, investments, or related analysis experience.
• Strong financial modeling, underwriting, valuation, and market research skills.
• Experience supporting transactions from acquisition through execution and due diligence.

Job Description

• Build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate new development and acquisition opportunities.
• Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and feasibility studies to support investment decisions.
• Coordinate due diligence activities, including third-party reports, zoning reviews, entitlement tracking, and regulatory analysis.
• Assist in the preparation of investment committee materials, lender packages, and equity partner presentations.
• Support project budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and ongoing financial performance tracking.
• Work cross-functionally with development, design, construction, and asset management teams to drive project execution.
• Monitor project milestones, identify risks, and provide recommendations to help ensure developments are delivered on schedule and within budget.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in real estate development, acquisitions, investments, capital markets, or commercial real estate analysis.
• Strong financial modeling, underwriting, valuation, and market research capabilities.
• Experience evaluating development opportunities, conducting due diligence, and supporting transactions from acquisition through execution.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to build and maintain complex financial models; familiarity with Argus and Microsoft PowerPoint is a plus.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a high attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative team player who enjoys working cross-functionally and can build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, consultants, lenders, and investment partners.
