CarterPierce, INC. is seeking a Vice President of Corporate Development to lead its healthcare vertical M&A efforts. You will work closely with founders, leadership, and investors to shape strategy and run transactions from initial evaluation to closing.

This is a first dedicated M&A hire with growth potential into leading an internal team. The role requires 4–7 years of transaction experience, with a background in investment banking or private equity, and a track record of lower-middle-market

Qualifications

  • 4-7 years of transaction experience, prior investment banking and private equity experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience executing transactions from initial evaluation through closing.
  • Experience with lower-middle-market acquisitions involving founder-, family-, or entrepreneur-owned businesses.
  • Healthcare services experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the company’s founders, leadership team, and investors to execute its acquisition strategy.
  • Lead transactions from initial evaluation and LOI through financial analysis, diligence, structuring, negotiation, and closing.
  • Own valuation, financial modeling, investment materials, and transaction recommendations.
  • Manage multiple transaction workstreams with limited senior-level oversight.
  • Develop trusted relationships with founders, owner-operators, intermediaries, and other transaction stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with outsourced business development resources to evaluate and advance acquisition opportunities.
  • Communicate the company’s permanent ownership model and long-term value proposition to prospective sellers.
  • Establish scalable M&A processes, reporting, and infrastructure.
  • Help build and develop the internal corporate development team as acquisition activity scales.

About the Company

CarterPierce has been retained by a venture-backed acquisition platform to identify a Vice President of Corporate Development for its newly established healthcare vertical. The Vice President of Corporate Development will be the company’s first dedicated M&A hire and an early member of the platform’s leadership team. Reporting directly to a co-founder, this individual will lead platform and add-on acquisitions from initial evaluation through closing. The successful candidate will inherit an active pipeline and operate with significant autonomy in a lean, entrepreneurial environment. The role will begin as an individual contributor position, with the opportunity to build and lead an internal M&A team as transaction volume grows.
