Job description

About One Workplace

One Workplace is a leading provider of innovative workplace solutions, helping organizations create environments where people and businesses thrive.

Serving customers across California and Washington, we bring together workplace strategy, design, products, services, and technology to create exceptional experiences. Our success is rooted in strong relationships, deep expertise, and a commitment to understanding and anticipating our customers’ evolving needs. As a Steelcase dealer with nearly 1,000 employees across multiple locations, we pair the strength of a leading manufacturer partnership with a local, relationship-driven approach.

The Opportunity

One Workplace is seeking a strategic, innovative, and commercially minded Vice President of Marketing to lead our enterprise-wide marketing strategy and execution.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this leader will play a critical role in accelerating business growth, defining a cohesive enterprise and portfolio strategy, and building a high-performing marketing organization across California and Washington.

We are looking for someone who sees marketing as a strategic driver of business performance, not simply a function that delivers campaigns and responds to requests. This leader will connect marketing investments to commercial outcomes, deepen partnerships with Sales, and ensure that our brand and customer experiences reflect the strength and differentiation of One Workplace.

The ideal candidate brings both strategic vision and a hands‑on approach to execution. They are equally comfortable shaping enterprise strategy, collaborating with senior business leaders, developing talent, and rolling up their sleeves to deliver results.

This is an opportunity to build on an established marketing team, sharpen its focus on the highest‑impact priorities, and grow the capabilities needed to support One Workplace’s next chapter of growth.

Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Marketing Strategy & Business Growth
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive enterprise marketing strategy aligned with One Workplace’s business objectives, revenue priorities, and long‑term vision.
  • Establish a unified marketing strategy across California and Washington, balancing brand consistency with regional market opportunities and customer needs.
  • Translate business priorities into clear marketing plans, measurable objectives, and coordinated execution.
  • Partner closely with the CEO and senior business leaders to identify growth opportunities, strengthen competitive positioning, and inform strategic decisions.
  • Own the enterprise marketing budget, including investment prioritization, resource allocation, performance measurement, and return on investment.
  • Establish a proactive, commercially oriented marketing operating model that anticipates business needs and creates measurable value.
Revenue Growth, Demand Generation & Sales Enablement
  • Build trusted, collaborative partnerships with regional sales leaders and commercial teams to align marketing initiatives with business development and revenue growth.
  • Develop integrated demand generation and account‑based marketing strategies to attract, engage, and convert target customers.
  • Strengthen marketing’s contribution to pipeline development, customer acquisition, and expansion opportunities.
  • Oversee the development of compelling sales enablement materials, proposals, presentations, campaigns, and customer‑facing content.
  • Partner with Sales to understand customer needs, market opportunities, and competitive dynamics, translating insights into actionable marketing programs.
  • Define and track meaningful measures of marketing’s contribution to pipeline, revenue opportunities, and business performance.
Brand Strategy, Positioning & External Communications
  • Develop and lead a cohesive brand strategy that clarifies the positioning, differentiation, and relationship between the One Workplace enterprise brand and its portfolio brands, ensuring each has a distinct role while reinforcing the strength of the overall organization
  • Ensure a compelling and consistent brand identity across all external touchpoints, channels, and customer experiences.
  • Lead brand storytelling, public relations, external communications, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Develop messaging and positioning that articulate One Workplace’s unique value proposition and competitive advantages.
  • Leverage market research, customer insights, and competitive intelligence to inform brand strategy and go‑to‑market decisions.
  • Partner with People & Places on employer branding and recruitment marketing initiatives.
  • Partner with People & Places on employee and change communications, ensuring internal and external messaging stay aligned.
  • Lead the evolution of One Workplace’s digital marketing strategy, including website experience, search, social media, digital campaigns, and marketing automation.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to leverage AI, emerging technologies, and modern marketing platforms to improve productivity, effectiveness, and customer engagement.
  • Build a data‑driven marketing culture with clear KPIs, reporting, and accountability.
  • Use analytics and performance insights to continuously optimize marketing investments, campaigns, and customer experiences.
Customer Experience, Events & Partner Marketing
  • Develop integrated customer engagement strategies that strengthen relationships throughout the customer lifecycle.
  • Lead customer events, experiential marketing, sponsorships, and other initiatives that deepen customer connections and elevate the One Workplace brand.
  • Partner with regional business leaders to create differentiated customer experiences that support loyalty, retention, and growth.
  • Collaborate with Sales and business leadership on marketing initiatives involving Steelcase and others.
Marketing Leadership & Organizational Effectiveness
  • Lead, coach, and develop an established marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Assess and strengthen team capabilities, organizational structure, processes, and resources to support evolving business needs.
  • Establish clear priorities, operating rhythms, and performance expectations that enable proactive planning and consistent execution.
  • Build effective cross‑functional partnerships with Sales, Operations, Finance, People & Places, and regional leadership.
  • Create an environment where team members feel empowered to innovate, challenge assumptions, and deliver exceptional work.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 12+ years of progressive B2B marketing experience, including 5+ years of senior‑level leadership of marketing strategy, teams, budgets, and business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing marketing strategies that drive business growth, strengthen brand positioning, and support revenue generation.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience building effective partnerships with sales organizations and senior business leaders.

  • Demonstrated ability to modernize marketing capabilities, including the application of AI, automation, data, and emerging technologies.
  • Proven success leading, developing, and inspiring high‑performing teams.
  • Excellent executive communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
  • Experience in relationship‑driven B2B services environments strongly preferred. Experience in commercial interiors, architecture, design, construction, or related industries is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience; advanced degree a plus.
Leadership Attributes
  • Strategic and Commercially Minded: Understands how marketing creates business value and connects strategy, investment, and execution to measurable outcomes.
  • Hands‑On and Results‑Oriented: Brings vision and ambition while remaining close to the work, driving execution and delivering results.
  • Collaborative and Influential: Builds strong relationships, earns trust, and creates alignment across functions, teams, and regions.
  • Humble and Curious: Leads with confidence without ego, actively listens, welcomes diverse perspectives, and remains open to learning.
  • Creative and Forward‑Thinking: Challenges conventional approaches, embraces innovation, and brings fresh thinking to business opportunities.
  • People‑Centered: Invests in talent, develops strong teams, and creates a culture of accountability, engagement, and shared success.
What Success Looks Like
