Job summary

Position Summary:

As Soufflé Therapeutics scales, we need a technology strategy that keeps pace with growing complexity across regulatory, scientific, and business needs. As our first VP, IT, you'll build and own that strategy, getting systems and infrastructure phase-appropriate before scale becomes a bottleneck. This is a highly cross-functional, hands-on leadership role, with real ownership to build the function from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the evolution of IT strategy as Soufflé transitions from research to clinical development, while planning ahead for later-stage portfolio and company needs
• Own IT infrastructure, cross-functional AI agents, cybersecurity, data management, and compliance
• Lead stakeholders in triaging and prioritizing initiatives spanning AI/ML integration, new systems for science, regulatory, and G&A, and platforms that optimize drug discovery
• Build and own the change management process for new system adoption across stakeholder groups
• Operate as a highly integrative, cross-functional partner to the leadership team

What Success Looks Like

• In 3 months: You've aligned a growth game plan for the next 2–3 years, with clear plans in place for key initiatives spanning AI/ML, quality, legal, and HR
• In 6 months: Your system roll-outs are landing successfully
• In 12 months: You're already setting the strategy for the company's next stage of growth, staying ahead of what's around the corner

Qualifications — Required

• 15+ years of relevant IT leadership experience in a biotech/pharma, including 6+ years in a similar lead role
• Working knowledge of ICH and FDA regulations, and HIPAA compliance requirements
• Led AI implementations successfully including agents and enterprise wide Chatbots.
• Experience with AI/ML across a broad application space
• Experience in R&D organizations transitioning systems from research to development, ideally at high-growth companies
• A hands-on approach to change management – owning system roll-outs with stakeholders end-to-end rather than handing them off

Education

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree a plus
