The Vice President of Human Resources will be a strategic HR leader responsible for developing and executing HR initiatives that support the company’s mission, growth, and culture. This role partners closely with senior leadership to drive talent strategy, strengthen organizational capability, enhance employee engagement, and ensure compliance with healthcare and labor regulations across a complex clinical and institutional environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
- Develop and execute HR strategy aligned with organizational goals, including growth plans, service quality, and operational performance.
- Partner with the executive team to support workforce planning, cultural transformation, and organizational development initiatives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on all people-related strategies and decisions.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Lead recruitment and retention strategies for clinical and non-clinical roles at scale, including direct care providers, clinicians, administrative staff, and leadership.
- Oversee development of proactive pipelines to attract highly qualified healthcare talent in a competitive market.
Employee Development & Performance
- Design and implement performance management systems that foster accountability, professional growth, and high standards of care.
- Create leadership development and succession planning programs to cultivate internal talent and support future growth.
Compensation, Benefits & Total Rewards
- Partner with finance and executive leadership to develop competitive compensation and benefits packages that attract and retain top talent.
- Oversee benefits strategy, including health, retirement, incentive programs, and other rewards that drive employee satisfaction.
Employee Relations & Culture
- Champion a culture of respect, inclusion, and engagement across the organization.
- Lead employee relations efforts, ensuring effective conflict resolution, communication, and compliance with employment law.
Learning, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure HR programs are compliant with federal, state, and healthcare-specific regulations (e.g., labor law, ACA, EEOC, OSHA, professional licensing requirements).
- Lead training and compliance programs, including onboarding, performance standards, ethics, and regulatory training.
HR Operations & Systems
- Oversee HRIS and other HR operational functions to ensure efficient, accurate, and secure administration of employee data, payroll interfaces, and reporting.
- Implement HR metrics and analytics to guide decision-making and improve workforce outcomes.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in healthcare, clinical services, staffing, or highly regulated industries.
- Leadership: Track record of strategic HR leadership with the ability to influence and partner at the executive level.
- Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of employment law, healthcare workforce issues, and organizational risk management.
- Skills: Strong communicator, analytical thinker, change management expertise, and ability to drive cross-functional initiatives.
