The VP will evaluate and integrate existing Mastercard treasury capabilities (including multi-rail settlement infrastructures and FX trading) into the development of a digital asset platform. The ideal candidate is a strategic builder with deep expertise in both traditional treasury and crypto/digital asset operations, capable of navigating ambiguity and creating new operating models across a complex, cross‑functional environment.

  • Evaluate and integrate digital asset partner capabilities into Mastercard’s treasury ecosystem.
  • Design a scalable, future‑ready digital asset treasury operating model that supports Mastercard’s digital asset commercialization strategy, balancing efficiency, risk, and regulatory compliance.
  • Design and implement risk frameworks covering market, liquidity, counterparty, and operational risks in digital asset environments partnering with cross‑functional partners from Legal, Compliance, and Risk teams to ensure regulatory adherence and establish governance structures for treasury decision making, including limits, policies, and escalation protocols.
  • Design the digital asset treasury functions including:
    • Liquidity management across fiat and digital assets, ensuring optimal capital allocation, funding, and settlement readiness across multiple rails and geographies.
    • Stablecoin on/off‑ramps, custody, settlement flows, and reconciliation across internal systems and external partners.
  • Develop crypto trading strategies, including liquidity sourcing, hedging, and optimization across venues.
  • Design robust controls, reporting, and monitoring frameworks for digital asset treasury operations, ensuring transparency and auditability.
Product Enablement & Cross-Functional Execution
  • Partner closely with product leaders to understand treasury requirements across digital assets initiatives.
  • Translate product needs into practical treasury solutions, designing flows for funding, settlement, and risk management.
  • Act as the primary treasury subject matter expert across cross‑functional teams (Product, Engineering, Risk, Legal, Compliance).
External Partner & Ecosystem Management
  • Manage relationships with key external partners (custodians, exchanges, liquidity providers, stablecoin issuers, and fintech partners).
  • Negotiate service level agreements, performance metrics, and risk parameters.
  • Continuously assess the vendor ecosystem to ensure Mastercard maintains best‑in‑class capabilities.
Leadership & Capability Buildout
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and execution excellence.
  • Define roles, processes, and operating cadence to support both strategic initiatives and day‑to‑day operations.
