Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking a Vice President of Software Engineering to design, deploy, and maintain SingleStore, MongoDB, Sybase, and cloud database environments supporting mission-critical workloads. You will drive best practices for backup, recovery, monitoring, and performance optimization, and partner with IAM and middleware teams on identity and entitlement considerations.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field with 5 years (Bachelors) or 3 years (Masters) of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and maintain relational and NoSQL database environments (SingleStore, MongoDB, Sybase, Cloud) to support mission-critical apps.
Implement and enforce database administration best practices including backup/recovery, monitoring, and performance tuning.
Collaborate with IAM and middleware teams to integrate identity and entitlement best practices across DB ecosystems.
Troubleshoot database issues to ensure high availability and reliability; perform capacity planning for data growth and traffic.
Drive improvements to DB release mechanisms and SDLC; enable automated tests including performance and scale tests.
Stay current with industry trends to propose innovative data platform solutions; design and maintain robust testing suites for safe, scalable delivery across business lines.
