Job Description
- Lead multiple Trade Finance Operations teams servicing clients from APAC, Frankfurt, and US locations, ensuring quality support in facilitating transactions and processes.
- Manage multiple transformational projects concurrently, working with various stakeholders.
- Drive best-practice approaches for streamlining and optimizing processes through workflow design and technology.
- Apply in-depth knowledge and expertise on service offerings, proactively assessing and resolving complex transaction issues.
- Provide oversight on multiple projects in parallel to help teams achieve business objectives.
- Participate in the risk and control committee, mitigating inherent and residual risks of the processes.
- Assist Product and Relationship teams with client-based solutions and strategic business cases, designing and providing technical training and creating process guides and manuals.
- Act as an escalation point for complex problems, guiding less experienced staff in resolution and crafting sustainable solutions.
- Achieve team and organizational goals, ensuring teams are equipped to operate and attain objectives. Manage human resources of the team, including recruitment, training, coaching, performance management, and career development; may also manage financial resources (budgets, expenses, etc.).
- Structure Letters of Credit or Standby LC/Guarantees in collaboration with Clients, Legal, Product, Risk & Compliance.
- Provide comprehensive training to the team on issuance, confirmation vetting, and document examination processes, developing a skilled workforce to meet client requirements and support business objectives.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is preferred.
- Typically 4-7 years of experience; 8-10 years of total work experience in Trade Finance preferred, with at least 2 years in team management highly preferred.
- Experience with Letters of Credit, Document Examination, Standby LC, guarantees, and proficiency with UCP, URDG, and ISP guidelines.
- Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required; trade certifications (e.g., CDCS, CSDG) are an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Sanctions, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Boycott guidelines and their relevance to Trade Finance.
