Job summary

BNY is seeking a seasoned Trade Finance Operations leader to guide several client-facing teams across APAC, Frankfurt, and US. You will drive process improvements, oversee complex projects, and collaborate with Product and Relationship teams on strategic client solutions.

The role requires deep knowledge of LC, Standby LC, related regulations, and strong people leadership to recruit, train, coach, and develop staff while ensuring objectives are met.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience in Trade Finance; 8–10 years total work experience; 2+ years in team management preferred.
• Experience with Letters of Credit, Document Examination, Standby LC, guarantees; familiarity with UCP, URDG, and ISP guidelines.
• Licenses/certifications as required; trade certifications (e.g., CDCS, CSDG) are an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Sanctions, AML, and Boycott guidelines relevant to Trade Finance.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple Trade Finance Operations teams servicing clients from APAC, Frankfurt, and US locations; ensure quality support.
• Manage multiple transformational projects concurrently with various stakeholders.
• Drive best-practice approaches to streamline processes via workflow design and technology.
• Provide oversight on multiple projects; assist Product and Relationship teams with client-based solutions.
• Serve as escalation point for complex problems; mentor less experienced staff.
• Participate in risk and control committee; mitigate inherent and residual risks.
• Structure Letters of Credit or Standby LC/Guarantees with cross-functional collaboration.
• Provide comprehensive training on issuance, confirmation vetting, and document examination processes.
