Job summary

Mantle Reach Power LLC is seeking a Vice President of Business Development to lead growth across North America for geothermal projects. You will source and negotiate acquisitions, develop partnerships with utilities, technology companies, and project partners, and drive term sheets and offtake agreements.

This senior role requires 10+ years in US power, a finance/economics degree, and strong contract negotiation skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Identify target markets, regulatory environments, and procurement cycles.
• Oversee due diligence and risk assessment for acquisitions and present recommendations to leadership.

Mantle Reach Power is seeking a Vice President, Business Development.

Mantle Reach Power is an independent power producer that develops, owns, and operates geothermal power projects across North America. The company is advancing a scalable, financeable portfolio to deliver clean, firm power to the grid. Mantle Reach Power is a portfolio company of EnCap Investments. EnCap has been a leading provider of growth capital to the energy sector for almost 40 years and has raised over $47 billion to date.

What You’ll Do

• Source and lead the evaluation, negotiation, and execution of project acquisitions, joint development arrangements, and other third-party development frameworks
• Grow, develop, and manage Mantle Reach’s relationships with prospective customers and project partners, including with utilities, technology companies, and other corporate buyers, data center developers, municipalities, and cooperatives
• Lead the origination, structuring, pricing, and negotiation of all agreements with offtake parties, including power purchase and build transfer agreements
• Drive the development and execution of strategies to bring geothermal power to customers at scale, emphasizing speed to market
• Identify and evaluate target markets, regulatory environments, and utility procurement cycles to position the company’s portfolio competitively
• Oversee project acquisition diligence and risk assessment, and together with the project’s deal team, prepare and present recommendations for approval to Mantle Reach management and board of directors
• Collaborate with engineering and development teams to assess the commercial viability of new projects
• Evaluate, implement, and optimize technological solutions to automate processes and scale the function with business growth

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree required in finance, economics or related business field
• Strong fluency with commercial contract terms and negotiation
• Experience with pricing and structuring offtake solutions
